Lee Renee jewellery studio
London-based jewellery designer Lee Renée effortlessly blends fashion and craftsmanship, and is fast growing a name in the contemporary jewellery sector thanks to her signature blend of delicate, exacting and narrative-driven pieces that are easy to wear and tell powerful, distinctive stories.
Lee's work is stocked in exclusive boutiques in London and around the world, has been displayed at Kew Gardens and regularly graces the fashion pages - Vogue magazine voted her into their list of 'Jewellery Designers to watch' - her work has also been featured in Elle, Sunday Times Style, Stylist, iD, Hello! and The Telegraph amongst many other style publications, plus she has a number of private celebrity clients.
Lee launched her brand in 2012 after spending 5 years retraining as a silversmith under some of St. Martin's and Hatton Garden's finest - in the heart of London's jewellery quarter - she's also a member of the British Jeweller's Association (BJA) and the British Pearl Association (BPA).
Each collection is a cohesive narrative, telling tales of anything from Miami Beach holidays to star-crossed lovers to Voodoo magic. Lee's work is inspired by a mixture of childhood memories, ancient civilisations, and intersections of nature and the urban world.
Beautifully designed and expertly crafted, they make timeless additions to any jewellery collection.
Everything is skilfully handmade by Lee and her team of Hatton Garden's master craftspeople, combining modern technology and traditional techniques.
All pieces are made using 100% recycled silver, and ethically sourced gemstones.
We hope you have as much fun wearing them as we do making and creating them for you.
Lee Preston -Jewellery Designer/Maker
My journey into jewellery started 10 years ago – I was working in Advertising, but knew I wanted to focus on design and work with my hands, however I was a bit scared to take the leap into a completely new field. That fear was replaced with bloody-mindedness and determination when I lost two close family members in short succession. It made me realise how short life is, so I put myself on a new path of making and designing jewellery.
I spent 5 years retraining and studying whilst working my old job part-time, then got a lucky break – an apprenticeship for a year with two of Hatton Garden’s finest jewellers, this taught me some killer skills and honed my design style, so I launched Lee Renee in July 2012 and although starting a business isn’t easy, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done – Renee is my middle name and means ‘rebirth’ so thought it was a perfect fit for my new adventure.
When not in the studio, I can be found exploring Hampstead Heath and rambling through the countryside (with a pub stop-off or two) with my gorgeous Australian Labradoodle puppy, Ted - who's now my studio dog.
Q: Where do you take inspiration?
Everything and everywhere - cliche but true... from childhood memories, literature to the wonderful city I live in and beyond. I could live in the V&A and The British Museum so I often go there to feel inspired by truly great artists and the wonderful architecture.
Ted - Studio Dog
I got Ted in 2016 - he was born on the same day as me so we share an Arian birthday! He's a bouncy, energetic cuddly boy, who loves playing and walks - and eating sticks, my trainer laces and generally being a bundle of naughty! At work you can find him usually asleep under my bench next to my feet - he will give you a big labradoodle welcome if you come visit me!
