Valentine’s gifts can be a political relationship decision. When did this happen? Apparently 200 years ago, Valentine’s day was a mythical feast day celebrated as an excuse for some poetic PDA. In the Tinder age, giving a mass produced, bright pink card is seen as the height of romance. However, we’re here to start a different movement; you are officially forgiven for wanting to forgo chopping down more trees. You can – and should – exchange gifts that are as long-lasting and unique as your love.
We take our lead from Frankie, one of our lovely customers, and her partner Dean, from Ottawa, Canada.
After a foretelling dream of being proposed to with a pineapple necklace, Frankie’s boyfriend took the opportunity on Valentine’s day to surprise her with the epitome of personalised – a promise pineapple.
Frankie explained to us – “He had given me a pineapple as a sign of things to come… He wasn’t ready to commit just yet and so the fruit served as a sort of “promise ring pineapple”. We love it!
It was a wonderful sign of things to come as on a subsequent Valentine’s Day, the pair had a stunning wedding on the Florida Keys, with of course, their theme - pineapples!
While a pineapple may not be the symbol of your love, what is? What’s your connection with Lee Renee? We’re absolute suckers for a love story or two… and would love to feature you here on the blog!
